Meet the Team

The Cooper family includes myself, my husband, our large dog, and our three cats. We all appear at one time or another in the photos and posts on this blog. Consider this your introduction to Team Cooper!

I like to read books, drink brews, pet cats, and take my dog for long walks. A more comprehensive introduction to me and this blog can be found here!

Adam Cooper

Very forgiving husband

Adam is my favorite person. He makes me dinner most nights, keeps the kitchen clean, and does the grocery shopping, which is great because I prefer the eating to the prepping of food! He does all the hard quests in video games for me and tells me before something scary happens on screen. He also has an uncanny memory of books I’ve read and what I thought about them. He is the best and I’m very thankful to have him as my life partner.

Lane “The Dragonkeeper” Cooper

Also goes by Laney, Mopes, Mopers, Puppy, Puppy Girl, Moperoni etc
#LaneyFTW

Lane was adopted by us in June 2014 at about 6 months of age. We have decided her birthday is January 10, 2014, the day we got married. She makes noises like a Wookie when she wants something. She is named after Lois Lane. She is a very good girl.

Malbec Monster Cooper

Also goes by Monster, Monster man, etc
#MalbecMonster #WineyCat

Malbec was adopted by us from Dr Robin Bisha in November 2015 as a kitten. He is very soft, demanding, and a troublemaker. He’s an absolute menace in the household and has never outgrown his kitten stage. He is named after one of my favorite types of wine, and is the only critter we’ve ever had whose name was not drawn from a pop culture reference. He is adored.

Danvers Cooper

Also goes by Danny, Danny girl, bby, perfect angle bby, etc
#DemandingDanvers

Danvers was adopted by us in September 2019 as a 5-6 year old cat from the South Texas Persian Rescue. She is even more demanding than Monster; she likes to yell and gently paw my face when she hasn’t gotten “enough” attention. She is named after the last name of Supergirl and Captain Marvel. We love her dearly.

Cinder Cooper

Also goes by Princess
#CinderPrincess

We actually tried to adopt Cinder in 2019. She was at the South Texas Persian Rescue at the same time as Danny, but we were deemed not a great fit for her then, and we got Danvers instead. Just a week after Willow died, we saw Cinder get posted for adoption from STPR again. Her previous owners had returned her. We felt like it was a sign that she belonged with us, and we adopted her in May of 2022. Transition into the household has been a long, challenging journey due to her relationship with the other cats, but she’s slowly becoming less of a menace, specifically to Danvers. She’s named after the main character in the Lunar Chronicles series. She’s a very silly goofy girl and we’re so glad to be her forever home.

Willow Marie Cooper
4/X/12-4/23/22

Also went by Willow Girl, Willow the Witch, Sweet Willow, and, inexplicably, Doofy, the Doofenmeister, etc
#WillowTheWitch

Willow was found as a very young kitten inside the Aumont in Seguin, Texas by me in May of 2012. The local humane society was full up, Adam got too attached, and we got stuck with her for all eternity. Willow spent her first few years despising me and punishing me for existing whenever possible. She adjusted her attitude in adulthood, thank God, and served as my lap cat whenever she could. She was named after Buffy’s best friend in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. We said goodbye to her unexpectedly in April of 2022 and we miss her dearly. She was horrible to live with, but she was ours.

Obiwan Kenobi Cooper
11/5/05-12/13/18

Also went by Obi, Obers, My Perfect Boy, My Precious, My Best Boy, Obiwansens-and-a-Kenobiwanses, etc
#YoureMyOnlyHopeObi

Obi was purchased from a breeder by my mother as a very young kitten and he spent his life with me. He was my feline soulmate, and I will miss him forever. We said goodbye on December 13, 2018 after a long battle with kidney disease and a heart murmur. Despite the fact that he has been gone for over a year as of the date of this blog’s creation, I have no doubt he will make appearances in various photos and I never want him to be forgotten. Miss you always, sweet boy.
